The bank also reported growth in deposits and advances, while its net interest margin moderated compared with the year-ago quarter.

- Non-interest income excluding treasury: ₹8,277 crore, up 12.5%.
- Operating expenses: ₹12,811 crore, up 8.5%.
- Provisions, excluding tax: ₹851 crore, compared with ₹914 crore a year earlier.
These figures are on a standalone basis. They should not be confused with the consolidated numbers, which include the bank’s subsidiaries and associates.
Consolidated profit also increases
ICICI Bank’s consolidated profit after tax rose to ₹16,333 crore in Q2 FY27 from ₹13,357 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Consolidated assets grew 22.6% year on year to ₹32,92,953 crore as of 30 September 2026.
Deposits and advances expand
Total period-end deposits increased 27.1% year on year to ₹20,49,874 crore. The bank said deposit growth excluding FCNR (B) deposits was 17.0%. Its total loan portfolio expanded 30.0% to ₹18,31,580 crore; excluding loans provided by international branches against FCNR (B) deposits, growth was 24.1%.
The net non-performing asset ratio stood at 0.30% at the end of September 2026. The bank’s total capital adequacy ratio was 16.68%, with a common equity tier-one (CET-1) ratio of 16.01% on a standalone basis.
What explains the quarter?
Growth in NII, fee income and core operating profit supported earnings. Fee income rose 20.1% to ₹7,795 crore, while non-interest income excluding treasury increased 12.5%. At the same time, the bank recorded a treasury loss of ₹230 crore, compared with a treasury gain of ₹220 crore in Q2 FY26. This distinction matters: treasury movements can affect reported profit even when core banking operations are growing.
The decline in net interest margin from 4.30% to 4.18% year on year is another metric to watch. Future performance will depend on deposit costs, loan pricing, credit quality and the pace of balance-sheet growth.
Investor takeaway
ICICI Bank delivered double-digit growth in standalone profit, NII and core operating profit in Q2 FY27. Deposit and loan growth remained strong, and the net NPA ratio was 0.30%. However, the lower net interest margin and treasury loss show why investors should assess the full results rather than focus only on headline profit growth.
