8 सितंबर 2026 को Yemen के Iran-aligned Houthi fighters ने Saudi Arabia के southern हिस्सों में missiles और drones से बड़े पैमाने पर हमले किए। Saudi authorities के अनुसार, 73 लोग घायल हुए, जिनमें महिलाएं और बच्चे भी शामिल हैं।
हमलों में Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jizan और Najran को निशाना बनाया गया। Reports के अनुसार civilian और economic targets के साथ Saudi military installations तथा energy infrastructure भी attack की चपेट में आए।
Saudi Oil Infrastructure पर खतरा
इस attack की सबसे बड़ी चिंता Saudi Arabia के energy sector को लेकर है। Houthi attacks में Aramco से जुड़ी installations को भी target किया गया। कुछ energy facilities में आग लगने और operations प्रभावित होने की reports सामने आई हैं।
Saudi Arabia दुनिया के प्रमुख oil exporters में से एक है। इसलिए अगर attacks लगातार बढ़ते हैं और oil infrastructure को बड़ा नुकसान होता है, तो इसका असर global oil prices और energy supply पर भी पड़ सकता है।
Houthis ने हमला क्यों किया?
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree ने attacks की responsibility लेते हुए कहा कि यह कार्रवाई Yemen पर हुए Saudi-led airstrikes के जवाब में की गई।
Saudi Arabia ने इन attacks को dangerous escalation बताया है और अपनी sovereignty तथा नागरिकों की सुरक्षा के लिए इन्हें गंभीर खतरा माना है।
Middle East में बढ़ता तनाव
2022 के बाद Saudi Arabia और Houthis के बीच relatively शांत स्थिति बनी थी, लेकिन 2026 में conflict एक बार फिर तेजी से बढ़ता दिखाई दे रहा है।
इस समय Middle East में कई अलग-अलग conflicts और geopolitical tensions एक-दूसरे से जुड़ रहे हैं। ऐसे में Saudi Arabia पर बड़े missile और drone attacks पूरे region की security situation को और complicated बना सकते हैं।
India के लिए इसका क्या मतलब है?
भारत के लिए सबसे बड़ा concern crude oil prices और shipping routes हैं।
अगर Saudi oil production या Middle East के महत्वपूर्ण shipping routes लंबे समय तक प्रभावित होते हैं, तो global crude prices बढ़ सकती हैं। इसका indirect असर India में petrol-diesel prices, transportation costs, inflation और imports पर पड़ सकता है।
इसके अलावा Gulf region में बड़ी संख्या में भारतीय नागरिक रहते हैं, इसलिए regional stability भारत के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दा है।

अगर Saudi Arabia बड़े स्तर पर retaliatory military operation शुरू करता है, तो आने वाले दिनों में Yemen–Saudi front पर तनाव और बढ़ सकता है।
