State Bank of India (SBI) has invited online applications from eligible Indian citizens for 60 regular Specialist Cadre Officer vacancies under Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/28. The recruitment covers Manager (Security) in MMGS-III and Deputy Manager (Security) in MMGS-II. Applications and fee payment are open from 4 November to 25 November 2026. Eligible serving or former commissioned officers of the armed forces and officers of eligible paramilitary forces may apply, subject to the post-wise rank, service and medical-fitness conditions.

Educational Qualification and Experience
Educational qualification for both posts: Graduation in any discipline from a Government-recognised university or institution. The required post-qualification service experience and rank differ by designation.
Manager (Security) — MMGS-III
An officer not below the rank of Major in the Indian Army, or an equivalent rank in the Indian Navy/Air Force, with at least 10 years of commissioned service; or
An officer not below the rank of Deputy Commandant in a paramilitary force, with at least 10 years of service as an officer in that force.
Deputy Manager (Security) — MMGS-II
An officer not below the rank of Captain in the Indian Army, or an equivalent rank in the Indian Navy/Air Force, with at least 5 years of commissioned service; or
An officer not below the rank of Assistant Commandant in a paramilitary force, with at least 5 years of service as an officer in that force.
The qualification and experience cut-off date is 31 October 2026. Candidates must provide the relevant service and experience documents. The Bank requires the experience certificate to clearly establish the relevant service and rank.
Medical Fitness Requirement
Applicants must possess medical fitness in SHAPE-1 or an equivalent medical category as on the date of release of the advertisement. Candidates must state the medical category recorded in their discharge book or service record and upload supporting documents. Applicants who are still serving must upload the latest Medical Board document issued by their service, clearly showing their current medical category.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The notified age range is 25 to 40 years as on 31 October 2026 for Unreserved candidates. Upper-age relaxation for eligible reserved categories will be governed by applicable Government of India rules. Candidates seeking relaxation must provide the required certificates if shortlisted. The advertisement does not permit cumulative age relaxation.
Role and Responsibilities
The role includes periodic security audits of branches and offices, reviewing and improving security arrangements, conducting security drills and awareness lectures, visiting branches, supporting disaster-management plans and coordinating with civil, military, police and other government agencies.
The notified scales include stage-wise increments. Eligible officers may also receive Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, provident fund, NPS, leave fare concession, medical facilities and other benefits under SBI rules. The advertisement specifies a six-month probation period for Manager (Security); it does not separately state a probation period for Deputy Manager (Security).

Reasoning Ability, English Language and General Awareness are qualifying sections; their marks will not be counted for the final merit calculation. Professional Knowledge is the scored written component. There is no penalty for wrong answers. The interview carries 100 marks. For the final merit list, the Professional Knowledge score is normalised to 70 marks and the interview to 30 marks. SBI reserves the right to modify the selection method to shortlisting and interview.
