Rosamund Pike to Star in and Produce Leslye Headland’s Body-Horror Film Feed

Rosamund Pike is set to star in and produce Feed, a new body-horror film directed by Leslye Headland and written by Daniella Isaacs. The story turns the pursuit of online fame into a mother-daughter horror scenario, with Pike playing a parent whose plan for her daughter’s influencer success has a disturbing physical consequence.

A collagen supplement sets the story in motion

According to the film’s logline, Erin is a desperate mother who discovers an obscure collagen supplement that promises to make her tween gymnast daughter an influencer star. The success they want arrives quickly: the girl goes viral. But she then begins a monstrous transformation, shifting the story from a familiar digital-fame chase into body horror.

The premise puts several contemporary pressures into the same family story: beauty products marketed as shortcuts, the monetization of a young person’s image, and a parent’s belief that online popularity can protect a child. Pike has described the project as a way to examine social-media obsession and self-improvement, while Headland has praised Isaacs’ screenplay as both disturbing and human. Feed is inspired by the 2022 Finnish horror film Hatching, which also uses a young person’s transformation to explore family expectations.

Pike leads the film and its producing team

Pike will play Erin and produce through her Primitive Streak banner. Shelley Browning of Magnolia Entertainment, Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures, Ara Keshishian and Petr Jakl of ZQ Entertainment, and Sam Ritzenberg of Agile Films are also producing. ZQ Entertainment financed the script’s development.

For Headland, the project returns her to feature directing after her work as showrunner on Disney+’s The Acolyte. Headland also executive produced the Michelle Williams-led miniseries Dying for Sex, which earned her an Emmy nomination in 2025. Isaacs wrote the screenplay and will be collaborating with Headland and Pike on the film’s dark take on modern motherhood and digital culture.

International and U.S. sales are being lined up

The Veterans will represent international sales rights, while CAA Media Finance will handle the U.S. market. Sales are scheduled to begin at the American Film Market. The announcement does not include a release date, distributor, or additional cast members, so those details remain to be confirmed.
