The makers of Ramayana: Part 1 have released a new version of the devotional track Shree Hanuman Chalisa, pairing a five-singer performance with a brief visual introduction to Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The video arrived on 5 November, the same day the film opened in cinemas, and gives audiences another look at the character whose larger role is expected in the story ahead.
A musical reveal led by A. R. Rahman
The track brings together Diljit Dosanjh, Sukhwinder Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Shankar Mahadevan and Kailash Kher. A. R. Rahman composed, produced and arranged the music, with lyrics by Kumar Vishwas; Sreekanth Hariharan is credited for additional vocals. The collaboration gives the film’s Hanuman sequence a prominent musical identity while bringing together singers known for distinct styles and audiences.
The official video is available through the film’s and music label’s YouTube channels. Its imagery keeps the character’s face out of view, using a large Hanuman figure and cinematic scenes instead of revealing Deol’s full look. That choice keeps the focus on the character’s arrival and leaves more of the performance for the film itself.
The post-credit moment points to a bigger role
Ramayana: Part 1 also introduces Hanuman in a post-credit sequence. Reports describing the scene say the character appears in flight with his gada as the film moves towards the next chapter of Rama’s journey. Deol’s appearance connects the closing moments of the first instalment to the part of the epic in which Hanuman becomes a central ally to Rama.
A new chapter for the two-part adaptation
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Deol playing Hanuman. The first instalment is now in theatres. The makers have scheduled the second part for Diwali 2028, according to release coverage. The new song and brief character reveal offer a bridge between the two films without disclosing the full shape of the sequel.
