The Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has invited applications for four Medical Officer-SD posts under Advertisement No. HSFC:02:RMT:2026, dated 9 October 2026. The recruitment is aimed at qualified medical professionals in General Medicine, Physiology and Aerospace Medicine.

Vacancy details

  • General Medicine (Internal Medicine) – 1 post.
  • Physiology – 1 post.
  • Aerospace Medicine – 2 posts.

All four posts are shown as unreserved in the advertisement. The positions are temporary, but are likely to continue. HSFC/ISRO may place selected candidates at any of its centres or units in India, depending on organisational requirements.

Educational qualification

All three disciplines require an MBBS degree as a prerequisite, along with the relevant recognised postgraduate qualification:

  • General Medicine: MD or DNB in General Medicine/Internal Medicine, in addition to MBBS.
  • Physiology: MD in Physiology, in addition to MBBS.
  • Aerospace Medicine: MD in Aerospace Medicine, in addition to MBBS.

The essential qualifications must be recognised and registered with the Medical Council of India, the relevant State Medical Council or the National Medical Commission. Foreign qualifications must be duly recognised as equivalent by the competent Indian authority. Candidates must possess the required qualifications by 8 November 2026.

Age limit and salary

The advertisement states that there is no upper age limit for post codes 01 to 03. The posts are in Pay Level 11, with basic pay starting at ₹67,700 per month. The package also includes Non-Practising Allowance at 20% of basic pay and admissible allowances such as DA, HRA and transport allowance, subject to applicable rules.

Application fee

Applicants initially pay ₹750 per application through the BharatKosh/NTRP portal. The non-refundable component is ₹250. Candidates who appear for the interview receive a refund of ₹500. Women, SC/ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates eligible for fee exemption receive a full refund after appearing for the interview. Applicants must attach the payment receipt with the application and provide accurate bank details for any refund.

Selection process

Selection will be through application screening and interview. HSFC will shortlist candidates for interview based on the applications received. Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call; final selection depends on interview performance. Candidates also have the option to give the interview in Hindi.

How to apply: postal application only

The prescribed application form must be neatly typed, signed and sent with all required supporting documents by ordinary post only. Handwritten applications, email submissions and hand-delivered applications will not be accepted. The completed application must reach the following office on or before 8 November 2026:

Administrative Officer, Recruitment Section
Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC), ISRO
Department of Space, Doddannekkundi
Bengaluru – 560037, Karnataka

Use a separate application for each post code and clearly superscribe the envelope with the post name and post code. Send the documents early enough to ensure delivery before the deadline; dispatch on the last day is not sufficient if the application reaches HSFC late.

Important date

Last date for receipt of application: 8 November 2026. The application and fee cut-off date is also 8 November 2026.

Official notification and application form

Important: This is a specialist medical recruitment, not a general MBBS-only vacancy. Applicants should read the official HSFC advertisement and confirm the exact postgraduate qualification, registration and document requirements before sending the application.
