In a bizarre and shocking incident from Aligarh’s Mandrak area, a 40-year-old woman allegedly eloped with her 20-year-old daughter’s fiancé just days before their scheduled wedding. Adding to the drama, the duo is suspected of fleeing with ₹2.5 lakh in cash and jewelry.

Vanished Before the Wedding

The wedding was planned for April 16, and both families were deep into preparations. On Sunday night, the groom-to-be left his home, saying he was heading out to buy wedding attire. Later that night, he called his father and said, “I am leaving. Don’t try to find me.” Around the same time, the bride’s mother also went missing from her home without informing anyone.

After both were reported missing, it became evident that they had run away together.

Police Begin Search Operation

Mandrak Station House Officer (SHO) Arvind Kumar confirmed that a formal complaint has been filed by the woman’s husband. Statements from both families have been recorded, and a search operation is currently underway.

Police suspect the couple may have fled to Uttarakhand, where the young man is believed to be working. Authorities are combing through CCTV footage from local bus stands and railway stations and have dispatched teams to trace the pair.

A Suspiciously Close Bond

According to a relative, the man had been a regular visitor to his fiancée’s house and had even gifted a mobile phone to the bride’s mother in the past. While their closeness had been noted, no one anticipated such a turn of events.

This unexpected love affair has stunned both families and the local community, as law enforcement continues its efforts to track the runaway couple.
