Nintendo Announces Launch Date for Switch 2: Price, Features, and More Details

Nintendo has officially announced that its next-generation gaming console, the Nintendo Switch 2, will launch globally on June 5, 2025. This release marks the first summer launch of a Nintendo console since the N64 in 1996.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will be available in two versions:

  • Standard Edition: Priced at $449.99.
  • Bundle Edition: Includes the console along with the game Mario Kart World, priced at $499.99.

Pre-orders for both editions are set to begin on April 9, 2025.

Nintendo has announced several new and updated games to coincide with the Switch 2 launch:

  • Mario Kart World: Features dynamic weather changes and off-road racing with up to 24 players.
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree: An expanded edition with new mini-games and modes, set for release on July 24, 2025.
  • The Legend of Zelda Series: Enhanced editions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom optimized for the new hardware.
