“Faith is a bird that sings when the dawn is still dark.”

What is faith? Well, Martin Luther King Jr. defines it as, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” It’s always easy to say that we trust the True Master and we trust his plans but ask yourself. Would you take the first step?

Why is it that we always say we trust him on something but then look for the alternatives. If I’m trying to seek an opportunity believing, “God I have faith you’ll bless me with success”, but at the same time, bribing someone to increase its chances. Is that faith?

In everyday life, we do say that “God, I trust you”, “I’ve faith in your plans”, “I know it’s for my own good”, and what not. But it takes one situation to test it. Sometimes, God brings these circumstances in our lives to test our faith, and to bring these words into existence.

I remember a story I heard on Youtube. There was a farmer named Dev who lived in a small village. He was a humble man who held his faith in God despite all his life’s hardships. Once the village faced a terrible drought, the fields dried up and food became scarce. Everyone was tensed but Dev remained calm. He believed that God will provide them a way to fight these hard times.

One day, he found a small, dry seed in a barren field. He planted it, praying for rain. Days passed and people started considering hm a fool for his blind faith. He didn’t care for people’s opinions and continued to water the seed with the last drops of water he had.

One night, the skies finally opened & rain poured, soaking the Earth. The next day, Dev found out that the seed had sprouted into a beautiful plant. Soon the fields were lush with thriving crops. When people asked him how he knew the rain would come, he just smiled and said, “I just planted the seed and trusted God to do the rest.” Dev’s story became a lesson of faith & trust.

For some people, this story might be nothing, but all it takes is a little faith to see miracles happen.

Well, indeed there are times we experience some traumatic situations, such as loss of dear ones, financial breakdowns, etc. leading to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and what not, and it’s hard to maintain faith. But remember, “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning how to dance in the rain.”

Let me share one of my own stories. It is about the time I was born. Some medical complications happened, and I was taken to nursery right after my birth. Doctors were not sure if I’ll survive or not. My parents were tensed at first, but they did have a very strong faith that the True Master will help me for sure and so did happened. I recovered quickly and till date, I’m living a healthy life.

Holy Bible says, “God promises to make something good out of the storms that bring devastations to your life.” ~Romans 8:28.

Shrimad Bhagwat Gita also says, “Whatever has happened has happened for good. Whatever is happening is also for good. Whatever will happen shall also be good.”

It’s just a matter of faith. Have faith and everything comes along.

There’s a very famous quote from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, “Happiness can be found even in the darkest times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” It is the light, the light of faith, faith in God, which shows us the right paths, even in the darkest nights.

Those who joyfully leave everything in God’s hand eventually see his hand in everything. Worries end where faith begins.
